Now that that's out of the way, how about some content?
I sculpted this as a christmas/birthday gift for my good buddy Laurence. He hasn't recieved it yet but there's little chance he'll stop by here. He doesn't really use any blogger/facebook/myspace anything, so that means I finally get to show off a finished piece on my blog. SCORE!
Laurence was gushing about my sculptures last summer, praising how far I've come and such. I figured that kind of ego inflation deserves a present. He's studying political science so these are him as the Emperor of Earth. I took these pictures before I baked it so the shine is much more subdued now. Origionally I was going to paint it and glaze it to make it look like marble but I've become attatched to the stone look it has now that it's baked.
Y'know now that I look at these I'm not happy with how the flash on the camera flattened the sculpture. I'll have to borrow Derek's camera again. (Thanks Derek!)
I'm making one of these of Karl too. Can anyone who knows my brother guess which infamous photo I'm using for reference?

Sweet sculpture Drew! :B
It's looking really good.
Holly sweetness Drew, this sculpture looks pretty awesome :O
You've done a really good job on the facial fetures they look totally realistic! Did you start with bones and then muscles or did you just shape it to whatever your reference was? Either way it looks real nice <3 ! I'm loving them eyebrows! :3
BTW Merry Christmas man, i know it's a bit late but mblah :D
Merry Boxing day!
I mostly just sculpted it to the shape of my reference, but I kept an idea of facial bones and muscles in my mind while I was doing it.
Whenever I couldn't see the proper angle from my reference photos I'd fudge it based on where I figured the bones/muscles should be.
